What Comes Next? My First Week with the BC Government

It has been months since I last wrote weeknotes on my Medium page. As you may know, I went on full time French training for 6 months. I made the deliberate decision to focus entirely on my French training without distraction. I didn’t write weeknotes and the need to document my weekly adventures did not feel urgent or pressing.

However, I have now emerged on the other side. As some may know, there has been a significant change in my professional life. I accepted a position as Director, Digital Investment with the BC Government under Jaimie Boyd. This was the first week in the new role. In my role, I will have the opportunity to support sound decision making of a DM level committee that approves capital funded IM/IT projects.

I likely will not be going back to weeknotes, at least in the format they were in during my time at the Canada School of Public Service. I will be moving to Victoria in July and I want to dedicate the majority of my time learning my new role and contributing to the team.

However, I do want to connect with people working in this area. If your work involves drafting, reviewing, monitoring, measuring or reporting on IM/IT projects, I want to talk to you. I want to learn about you or your organization look at IM/IT projects and drive toward a digital government that serves citizens first.
